I served as both Professional Development Continuing Education Program “Design Teacher” developer and manager and European Social Fund Project “In-service Training for Vocational Cultural Education Teachers” manager and implementer. The Professional Development Continuing Education Program “Design Teacher” remains the only recently developed program for design teachers in Latvia. The program was designed to include 328 academic hours in six modules: Pedagogy and Psychology, Design Research, Design and Context, Business and Economics, Practice and the Qualification Project. The project implementation involved 25 lecturers from the Latvian Academy of Art, University of Latvia and BA School of Business and Finances along with the best professionals from Latvia in the field and six foreign lecturers from Sweden, Ireland and Belgium. The program has graduated 100 design teachers with certificates of professional development and qualifications as design teachers in the vocational education system.
